The Crappies are spawning! It's just like old times here on KY Lake. The water conditions are pretty normal, the water temps are right, and there "ARE" still a lot of big Crappie in this lake! Check out the pictures on my "Pictures" web page for recent photos.
CRAPPIE
Notes on Action: We've found good action on large Crappie the past few days. The Black and White Crappie are spawning on the banks and ledges.
What to Use: Chartreuse, green, and white curly tails cast on 3/32 oz jigs and a black spider grub on a 1/32 oz jig under a weighted bobber are producing well.
Where to Fish: Shallow points with wood 3' to 4' deep and shallower humps 8' to 10' are sure bets.
BASS
Notes on Action: Good action can be found shallow with an occasional BIG fish being caught.
What to Use: Soft plastics in watermelon, green pumpkin, or June bug are producing. Shallow cranks and rattle traps are also effective.
Where to Fish: Shallow wood in 1' to 3' of water and shallow flats 3' to 4' deep are producing.
