We've enjoyed a mild weather spell here on KY Lake for the past week. The daytime fishing has been pleasant and the action has been great for Largemouth Bass with fish being caught from the shallows in the backs of bays to the depths of the main lake. This lake is "ate up" with bass!

If you'd like to catch bass like the pros or better than the pros, call me at 877-354-6017. Bass fishing is fun for men, women, kids, and seniors. If you'd like to view pictures of past and recent catches, check 'em out on my "Pictures" web page.

LARGEMOUTH BASS
Notes on Action: The action couldn't be much better on certain ledges. Lots of 14" to 16" fish being caught with a good number of 4 lb to 6 lb fish. The shallow action is more scattered but steady. A friend of mine weighed a 5 fish bag that went 19 Lbs the other day, all caught in 2' to 4' of water.
What to Use: Crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, and soft plastics will produce. Green pumpkin chartruese flutter worms from Kenlake Marina (270-474-2245) are hot!
Where to Fish: I've done best fishing 10' to 18' deep on the mainlake and at the mouths of bays. I have found good action as shallow as 5' and as deep as 30'.

WHITE BASS
Notes on Action: We caught surface busting fish every cast for 2 hours the other day but I haven't found good dependable action yet. After July 4th, when TVA starts their draw-down, the White bass normally get dependable. Now's the time to book a fishing trip!
What to Use: 1/4 oz inline spinners from the Fisherman's Friend (270-362-4323), and 1/2 oz spoons will catch 'em.
Where to Fish: Mainlake and mouth of bay ridges 10' to 25' deep.

CRAPPIE
Notes on Action: I've tried them about a week ago and caught some nice sized fish, but found the action rather slow.
What to Use: Jigs or minnows.
Where to Fish: Brush piles in 10' to 20'.

BLUEGILL
Notes on Action: I caught a nice mess a few days ago but the action was a little slow and the fish not as large as I'd like.
What to Use: Spider jigs and wax worms.
Where to Fish: Gravel points 3' to 10' deep.

Now's a good time to book a summer White Bass trip, July and August are the best months on KY Lake. The fish seem to be running larger this year! If I can help get you out on KY Lake for a great fishing experience, e-mail Info@CaptainKirksGuideService.com or call 877-354-6017.
